Dr MICHAEL IOSIFIDIS, MD, PhD is an Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Surgeon practicing in Sports Injuries, Biologic and Cell Therapies, Joint Reconstruction. He served for over 20 years the National Health System of Greece and he is currently the Head of 3rd Orthopaedic Department, European Interbalkan Medical Center. He founded and is the Chief Physician of the Orthobiology Surgery Center, in Thessaloniki, Greece.

In his postgraduate and post-residency period attended several Knee, Shoulder and Upper Limb Fellowships, with most important in Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, University of Pittsburg MC, PA, U.S.A., Hospital of Special Surgery, NY, USA, and Klinik für Orthopädie und Sportorthopädie, TUM University, Munich, Germany.

Dr Iosifidis carried out his Doctoral Thesis under the title: "Elite athletes sport activity as a predisposing factor for osteoarthritis”.
He was Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Residency Programme Coordinator and the recent years is the head of ICRS Teaching Center and he is also an ESSKA Teacher.
Author in 8 Book Chapters, over 400 studies in Congresses, 42 published studies (peered reviewed) and 52 proceedings in International Journals, speaker and instructor in over 360 round tables, lectures and hands-on workshops.

The recent period is the President of the Greek Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery, and Sports Injuries – “George Noulis”, and the President of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology Society of Macedonia and Thrace. He is member of the Advisory Committee of Greek Hellenic Cord Blood Bank of Biomedical Research Foundation Academy of Athens /BRFAA for regenerative medicine and cell therapies in musculoskeletal system.

Finally, he serves international scientific societies as a Committee Member (ISAKOS & ICRS) and recently is member of ESSKA’S Orthobiology Initiative (ORBIT) Steering Group.
